| Staff & Board of Directors Andrés R. Connell, Executive Director Andrés R. Connell was appointed Executive Director of CollegeWorks in September of 2007. Prior to joining CollegeWorks, he served as Senior Program Director for Horizons Unlimited of San Francisco, a youth development organization located in the Mission District. During his 6-year tenure, Andrés provided administrative and programmatic support to the organization's two biggest departments, serving a combined total of 4,000 youth per annum. Andrés has over 10 years of experience working in support of low-income youth of color and he firmly believes in the power of higher education. Andrés holds a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco, a Project Management degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, and a Bachelors degree in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. Andrew Henrotin, Director of Counseling Programs Andrew Henrotin became CollegeWorks Director of Counseling Programs in September of 2007. As an expert in the college counseling field, his talents will enhance our individual counseling model by providing college selection, admissions, and financial aid counseling, classes, workshops and conferences for our students, parents, and educational partners. Mr. Henrotin will continue to foster relationships with the finest colleges and universities throughout the country to increase higher education opportunities for our students. Prior to concentrating his efforts on CollegeWorks counseling programs, Andrew served as the organization's executive director for over four years. Under his direction, the organization grew exponentially and became known as a leader in college support programs throughout the Bay area. Before joining CollegeWorks, Andrew worked as a teacher and administrator for the Oakland Unified School District for seven years. Mr. Henrotin received his Bachelors degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley and his English and Social Science teaching credentials from California State University, Hayward. He has been a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) since 2003. Founder Dr. Paul R. Wrubel founded CollegeWorks in 1998. He has 30 years of educational experience as a teacher, high school principal, school board president and college counselor. Dr. Wrubel serves as a board member and a resource for CollegeWorks college selection, admissions and financial aid counseling.
