Testimonials

"CollegeWorks got rid of all my college inhibitions. When I began in the CollegeWorks program last fall I truly had no post-high school aspirations. They guided me on the path towards finding the colleges that I have since applied to. Had it not been for CollegeWorks I might be attending community college next year."
-Ezra Gale, Sophomore, UCLA

"You and your organization have proven to be an incredible delight. You literally lifted stress and worry from my shoulders. Your help has been clear, non-judgmental, and fun. I know Ezra has many adventures ahead of him and you two have been critical in keeping his options open. You guys are jewels of all colors. Please continue on with our deepest thanks."
-Barbara Hammer, mother of Ezra Gale

"I took the initiative to start my research during my free period here at school, and of all the recommended schools, in particular Barnard, Wesleyan, and Reed. You work wonders! I am ecstatic--this research has me actually looking forward to applying to college."
-Celia La Luz, Freshman, Reed College

"College Works made a very great difference for the better in Celia's choice and opportunities for college. College Works assured and guided Celia through the application processes to more than 12 colleges across the country. Celia needed that encouragement; without College Works, she would have thought that applying to private colleges would be useless because tuitions seem so high. Celia decided to accept Reed College's offer of a $43,900 package, with Reed College contributing $39,000 per year, and we will only have to pay $2,500 per year toward the cost of her education. This offer beats by far the cost of California State institutions, which we thought as first, was the only way we could afford to pay for Celia's college."
-Regina Blosser, mother of Celia La Luz

"The kids you come in contact with are very lucky!"
-K.C. Ford, Associate Director of Admissions, Colby College

JaQuan Bryant
JaQuan Bryant, Senior, The College of Wooster
As JaQuan researched colleges as a senior at Castlemont High School, CollegeWorks suggested his educational and personal interests would fit well with Wooster. He applied and was accepted, and the college flew him to Ohio for a visit. After his sophomore year he shared, "I'm spending the summer as a summer camp counselor at Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, Connecticut, working as the certified archery instructor. Everything is going great at school. I'm a declared Africana studies major and education minor. I was granted acceptance into the education program with top marks in all of my introductory Ed. classes. I was elected Black Students' Association President, and I was also selected as a hearing member of the College's judicial board. I'll be entering my second year as a resident assistant. I'm placed in the all-Greek dorm which will be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to it all."

Niema Jordan
Niema Jordan, Senior, Northwestern University
Thank you so much for the opportunities you have made available to me and have helped me take advantage of. Before you guys, I had no clue what Northwestern was. I am eternally grateful.

Maria Tamayo
Maria Tamayo, Senior, UC Berkeley
College Works worked with me and my parents to ensure that I would be the first in my family to attend college. Because of their support, my parents will not have to pay back any loans or borrow money while I attend UC Berkeley. I can only imagine what they will continue to do with the bright students who need their help and who are fortunate enough to work with them.
